The Little Bokchoy (小青菜) is a bilingual children’s board book with rhyming lines, adorable characters, and foundational themes of friendship. It tells the story of a little bokchoy who is new to a fruit and vegetable market. Many of the other vegetables and fruit are scared because they have never seen a bokchoy before, and avoid it. One curious little carrot, however, opens up and changes things for the new friend in town.
Written in English and Chinese (in both pinyin and Chinese characters), the book rhymes in both languages. It is a friendly companion to many different readers and families, and is perfect for bilingual parents, a grandparent who only speaks one language, an English-speaking spouse to a Chinese speaker, or a young Chinese reader. It also comes with digital companions such as an audio reading, printables, and a glossary. It is the third in the bilingual children’s storybook series called The Little Garden (小花园).
