小番茄 in English

A little tomato was young and green
His friends all had a bright red sheen

Every day, he looked in the mirror
He dreamed of growing red and bigger

He wracked his brain, tried lots of things
And hoped to see change happening

He drank some water, stretched lots too
Sunbathed all day and slept till noon

But nothing seemed to work at all
“Aiyaya!” he yelled, then bawled

He alarmed a pepper, who was nearby
“What’s going on, why the loud cry?”

The tomato hid his sorry face
“How rude of me to shout at your place.”

His blush became a bright red hue
And just like that his dream came true!

The rest of him was set ablaze
And sparkled like his ruby face

Now that he was fiery red
He smiled joyfully instead

He rushed to cheer his green friends on
“Fast or slow, your time will come!”
